To My Maya,

When I was a kid my mom got me a book filled with arabic poems. I revisited it recently. One that always stuck out to me was a love poem. Took me a while but I finally found it:

I've seen you in my dream one night, which made me forget about my woes.
Your presence made me feel like I'm still awake, Until I woke up to yet another farewell.
If I knew that dreams united us, I would've closed my eyes to eternity.

I always thought I understood that poem. It wasn’t till I met you that I finally did.

I love making things for you, this, I think (not very often), is my favourite. You have such an amazing story, and getting to be a part of it, I feel like the luckiest man in the world.

The hardest part of making this was picking which chapters would make it - as far as I’m concerned all of them are amazing.

We’ve been through a lot together and in that time, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing first hand how strong you truly are. I am so grateful to have had that. Every second I spend with you, every fact I learn about you. I can't help but be inspired, you truly are my best half.

Happy birthday my love. I have no doubt that you’ll continue to write some amazing chapters. You are truly the most amazing woman I’ve ever known. I hope you enjoy the Maya-Verse as much as I do.
